Joe Mathieu is the co-anchor of “Bloomberg: Balance of Power” and a Washington Correspondent for Bloomberg TV and Radio. He is also the host of Bloomberg Radio’s Sound On.

Mathieu began his broadcasting career before he could drive, working through high school in the newsroom at WINY Radio in Putnam, CT. He later became news director for a group of radio stations on Cape Cod before moving to Washington, D.C., where he served as a morning radio anchor and editor at Metro Networks.

He began covering the intersection of Washington and Wall Street as anchor and managing editor of the CBS MarketWatch Radio Network. Mathieu later moved to SiriusXM Satellite Radio as the founding program director and host for the POTUS political news channel.

He spent a decade back in Boston as morning anchor on WBZ NewsRadio, where he received the national Edward R. Murrow Award for Best Newscast, and at WGBH Radio, where he won the Public Radio News Directors Inc (PRNDI) award for Best Newscast. He returned to Washington, D.C., in 2021, to join Bloomberg Radio & TV.
