New York (March 27, 2025) – Today, Bloomberg launched Pointed, a weekly news quiz designed for risk-takers and news trivia enthusiasts. Pointed offers a strategic twist to the news quiz format, testing not just players’ knowledge of the news but also their confidence in their answers. Pointed incorporates unique game play elements, including point allocations, leverages and hedges that allow players to embrace risk or play with caution.
Each week, players get a witty 10-question news quiz — but before they can play, they receive category previews. With a total of 100 points to allocate, players strategically distribute their points across the categories. Once they begin playing the game, they can then use a number of leverages to increase their points or hedge to reduce risk. The ultimate objective? Score 190 points, the highest possible outcome.
For an added layer of competition, registered Bloomberg.com users will also have access to more stats, including how their scores compare with others, and a sharable graphic of their performance. Over time, users will be able to analyze their historical performance.

Pointed is accessible on Bloomberg.com, on mobile and on the Bloomberg Terminal. It is free to play. The quiz runs weekly from Thursdays at 6 p.m. EST to Mondays at 11:59 p.m. EST and will complement Bloomberg’s weekend offering.
