Reinvented flagship Bloomberg business show airs on Bloomberg Television on Sept. 20 and across WORLD channels starting Sept. 22
September 20, 2024 – Bloomberg announced today that its flagship Wall Street Week television series, hosted by David Westin, will relaunch and additionally return to public media and be distributed by WORLD. The program will air Fridays on Bloomberg at 6pm ET and starting on September 22, air Sundays at 2 pm ET on 195 PBS stations with WORLD digital channels in markets representing 77% of US TV households. WORLD is a multi-platform channel that shares the best of public media in news, documentaries and programming.
In the current series, Westin sits down with the top names in finance and economics to discuss the week’s biggest issues on Wall Street. The relaunch transforms these conversations into compelling stories from around the world of capitalism across business, economics, markets, geopolitics, climate, and technology. It will include new long and short-form segments tailored to Bloomberg’s global audience, and narratives told through the lens of influential voices in business and finance. The show will continue to feature exclusive interviews with leaders in business and finance, serving as the destination for viewers looking to think more deeply about the world of business, economy, and financial markets.
The program is a reinvention of Wall Street Week with Louis Rukeyser, which was created and produced by Maryland Public Television and aired on PBS for over 30 years. Bloomberg relaunched the program in 2020, hosted by Westin.
“We have the luxury of talking with the smartest and most influential minds in business, economics, and finance each week,” said Westin, anchor of Wall Street Week. “Our goal is to provide our audience not just with what they need to know, but what they need to think about.”
“We’re thrilled about relaunching this series and bringing this new version of Wall Street Week to a much larger viewer base on WORLD,” said Julie Alnwick Mchale, Global Head of Bloomberg Television. “David Westin is perhaps one of the most well-regarded interviewers in the world of business and finance, having spoken with many of the titans on Wall Street over his storied career. This series showcases his brilliant ability to help viewers understand the broader implications of the week’s top stories and we are excited about the expanded format this show deserves.”
“Wall Street Week – a trusted institution and source for financial news – is now returning to public media with Bloomberg’s superb relaunch on WORLD. We’re pleased to be able to share news and analysis of the biggest financial stories of the week with audiences hungry for this content on our member station broadcasts and streams across the U.S.,” said Liz Cheng, general manager for GBH and WORLD.
After airing on Bloomberg Television across its cable, satellite and FAST streaming platforms reaching more than 400 million households worldwide, episodes of Wall Street Week will be available on www.bloomberg.com and on the Bloomberg Business app as part of its expanded weekend offering.
