Insiders look at Wall Street features global finance’s titans and emerging players on Bloomberg Media’s full suite of linear, streaming and digital platforms
NEW YORK (March 4, 2025) – Bullish, a new original documentary-style series hosted by Sonali Basak is set to debut on Bloomberg Media platforms in May 2025, delivering an insider’s glimpse into the world of finance with its titans and rising stars. Announced during the annual Bloomberg Invest summit today, the six-episode series looks to build on the brand’s renowned global finance and markets-focused coverage and add unique perspective to the stories that shape the markets. Each half-hour edition of Bullish will debut on linear, streaming and digital — Bloomberg TV, Bloomberg Originals, Bloomberg.com and partners.
“Wall Street has evolved from being a ‘location’ into an interconnected global idea that represents the people, data and ambition driving finance,” said Sonali Basak, Anchor, Lead Global Finance Correspondent and Host of Bullish at Bloomberg. “On Bullish, the industry’s most important voices will help us untangle the complexities and behind-the-scenes details of the stories and personalities moving the markets. It’s actionable insight, produced with a distinctive energy and style, for a range of leaders and serious investors.”
Bloomberg Media’s total video audience has more than doubled since the February 2023 relaunch of Bloomberg Originals to focus on cross-platform original series and documentary production. Total cross-platform audience grew to 62 million average monthly viewers in 2024, up from 30 million in 2023, driven by a range of live news, original series and short-form documentaries. Hours-watched in January 2025 were up 13% year-over-year compared to January 2024.
“The doubling of our video audience over the past two years is a strong indication that our approach to live and original content is resonating,” said David Merritt, Global Head of Media-Editorial at Bloomberg. “Bullish will build on the global finance-focused coverage that we’re often most known for across live news and short-form. Our research shows a growing and wider range of business leaders who want added context on the financial stories that shape the markets.”
Bloomberg Originals series include The Circuit and Posthuman, both hosted by Emily Chang, An Optimist’s Guide to the Planet with Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, The Deal with Alex Rodriguez and Jason Kelly, Momentum with Haslinda Amin and more.
As Bloomberg Media also continues to double down on an integrated strategy that includes live events, this week’s Bloomberg Invest Summit will incorporate a number investment-related cross-platform franchises. The Deal (with Jason Kelly and Alex Rodriguez), Odd Lots (Joe Weisenthal and Tracy Alloway) will deliver live versions of their shows during the Invest program.
