Bloomberg LIVE convened the most influential transportation leaders in New York City – one of the busiest, most-watched transit regions in the world – this week to discuss and debate just that question.

Bloomberg journalists led insightful, news-making conversations among top officials including Polly Trottenberg, New York City’s Commissioner of Transportation; Thomas F. Prendergast, Chairman and CEO of the MTA; Stephen J. Gardner, Amtrak’s EVP of Northeast Corridor Development; and John Degnan, Chairman of the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey. They were also joined by Thomas Wright, President, Regional Plan Association and executives from Transit Wireless, which is building breakthrough technology across the New York City subway system. The conference was kicked off by Kevin Riddett, President of Siemens Mobility, whose welcoming remarks underscored the critical role transportation plays in creating the cities of tomorrow.
The Future of Transportation conference was the first in a series of three future-focused events supported by Siemens (the series continues with The Future of Manufacturing and The Future of Cities in Washington, DC in coming months).
